Description

"Maeve" is the Anglicized form of Irish Gaelic Meadhbh, meaning "intoxicating." In mythology, this is the name of a warrior queen of Connacht, the wife of Ailill. This one-of-a-kind necklace was inspired by my obsession with the jewelry of ancient times to the 1800s. Part of my new "Grave Goods" line, the goal with these classically styled pieces is to create designs that are timeless and will be just as desirable in a thousand years. Handcrafted featuring a composite turquoise pendant with plated patterned dangle, with composite and natural turquoise, plated, and sterling silver beads, an extender chain with a turquoise dangle, and a hand-forged sterling silver "S" clasp. This exquisite adjustable length necklace measures from 16" to 19.75".This piece is part of my "Grave Goods" line. Please see the shop for my other collections--"Nocturne", for those who appreciate a more modern dark aesthetic, and "Modern Primitive", for tribal-inspired jewelry.About me: Fascinated by the craftsmanship and aesthetic of the ancient world, I primarily identify as a sculptor, but also work in pastel, Conte' and colored pencil, and have been making jewelry for over 25 years.
